LETS CREATE SOMETHING GREAT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Supplies Needed:
  • Heat n Bond (Link at bottom)
  • Fabric of your choice
  •  Pen
  •  Scissors
  • Template (I'm using a number 1)
  • Sewing Machine
  • Thread
  • Iron
  • Shirt
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STEP 1:

Iron the Heat N Bond to the backside of your fabric
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STEP 2:
Trace your template on the Heat N Bond paper.
Make sure to reverse the image (mirror image) so it is not backwards on your shirt.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STEP 3:

Cut out your fabric design.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 4:
Fold your shirt in half and iron it to create a crease. Now, fold your template in half to create a crease. DO NOT IRON THE TEMPLATE.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STEP 5:

Line up the crease in the template to the crease in the shirt.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STEP 6:
Iron the fabric template to the shirt.
Follow the Heat n Bond directions for ironing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STEP 7:

 Sew around the edges of your fabric template.

I used a straight stitch for this applique, but I also like using a zig zag stitch.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STEP 8:
 Clip off the extra thread and enjoy your new applique shirt :)
These make great birthday presents and baby shower gifts! Make one for the childs age and initial of their name. You can even make a silhouette shape of a plane, skull, star or whatever else you can think of.
  2. Does the Heat and Bond keep your fabric from fraying after washing?
    1. Hey Emma, It still can (most the time it doesn't) but it will not fray as much as it would without the heat-N-bond
